Wheat Deadline!
1) Make your checks out to me, Whitney Permann, for $16.50 per bucket (tax already included).
2) On the "for" line (bottom left), write how many buckets of each you want (for example, 2 white, 3 red)
3) Bring your money to my house by Tuesday.
Call me before you come over to make sure I am home :)
Remember: If I don't have your money by Tuesday, I cannot place your order, even if you've already told me you want some.
As for pickup, I won't know the exact date until the order is placed (I assume it will be about a week). When I know what the date will be, I will let you know and give you details about where and how to pick it up.
Let me know if you have any questions...and I'll see you (and your money) soon :)

Awesome Wheat Deal!!
I recently found a really good deal on wheat (hard white or red)!
To compare, here are wheat prices around town right now:
Costco: $22 for a 45lb bucket
Wal-Mart: $20.82 for a 45lb bucket
Springville Cannery: $20.40 for 33lbs of red wheat (it comes in 6 #10 cans--not in a sealed bucket.) White Wheat is NOT available here right now.
WHAT WE CAN GET: A sealed 45lb bucket of hard white wheat (or red) for $16.50 w/tax!!! (From a place in Brigham City called Wheatland Seed.)
To get this deal, we have to get 288 buckets ordered. If we do this, they will drive it down to us in a semi-truck. So, let your neighbors, friends, and family know about this deal and (with the help of a few other wards I am working with) we will hopefully be able to order this many and get this deal.
Buckets vs. Bags: Remember, you may be able to find wheat cheaper in bags, but then you have to buy the bucket and the lid (around $5-8) and seal it yourself...which will make it more expensive than what we are getting it at. This is a great deal on wheat already sealed in a bucket.
White vs. Red: Either is fine to get. White wheat is a little easier on your digestive system, but red wheat is a little more nutritious (and a little "heavier"). You can usually find red wheat cheaper than white wheat, so I personally am going to order mostly white wheat this time because of the low price. Don't stress--both are good.
Why Get Wheat? Even if you aren't using wheat in your diet yet, it is important to begin stocking up on it. And you don't need to worry about rotating this wheat--it will last for 30 years sealed this way just sitting in your storage--guilt free! (I for one am working on getting a year supply of wheat in buckets that I never touch. Then I will just buy the wheat I use as I need it (like one bag at a time) to cook with. You may call this lazy...I call it simple....)
I know many of you don't use wheat and don't even have a way to grind it, but we'll worry about that later :) Right now, take advantage of this good deal and get what you can--even if it's only one bucket!
We will be having Enrichment classes later this year on easy ways to use your wheat. Just get some!
How to Order: Leave a comment (with your name) and let me know HOW MANY buckets of white or red (or both) you would like. IF we get enough orders to meet the requirements of the deal, THEN I will collect your money.
Thanks!
(Call Whitney Permann with questions.)

March Food Storage Meeting!
Month 3 – April 2009
”As issues become clearer and more obvious, all mankind will eventually be required to align themselves either for the kingdom of God or the kingdom of the devil. God will provide strength for the righteous and the means of escape I testify that it is time for every man to set in order his own house both temporally and spiritually.” ~Ezra Taft Benson
This month talk with your family how to avoid debt. Talk about the difference between what we want and what we need. Talk about the ways the world shows us we need gratification now…There are commercials & other pressures that affect our decisions when we spend or save money. Set a goal to be debt free…including a timeline when to have it done by. Define specific objectives on how you will achieve this goal. Let the entire family be part of the plan. Be realistic but also determine a reward which will motivate you to your goal. Remember the words of President
Hinckley, “May the Lord bless you to set your house in order”. Watch for the blessings. They will come!
- 50 cans of soup
- 2 lbs salt
Add Laundry Soap, Dish Soap, Clorox, & Ammonia to your storage this month
